Audiences love the “nothing else like this” sensation they experience at Music on Main’s Modulus Festival. Each Downtown Vancouver event is unique and dynamic and evokes discussion between audiences and artists.

Entering into its 12^th run, the Modulus Festival is no stranger to show-stopping musical lineups full of the kind of originality that sparks thought-provoking conversations and stays in your memory.

Highlights of the 2023 festival include: a concert of music by Julius Eastman performed by the Music on Main All-Star Band and the Vancouver Youth Choir; world premieres by Nancy Tam and Dorothy Chang performed by Standing Wave Ensemble; and a brand new collaboration from Eve Egoyan and Mauricio Pauly.

One audience member called the music they hear at at Modulus “experimental, but never alienating” and another said that the 2022 performance of Steven Kazuo Takasugi’s Sideshow was the “best thing I’ve seen in Vancouver.”
