NOVEMBER 4-10, 2021
THE ROUNDHOUSE | ANNEX | THE POST AT 750
Keep your eyes on this page. Full festival scheduled announced early October 2021.
Just the place to explore new worlds.
Vibrating. Moving. Inspiring.
Music on Main is thrilled to listen together again and celebrate the 10th Modulus Festival. There’s something for everyone to discover while engaging with new music and conversations.
“Modulus rethinks how audiences, artists, and composers interact with each other. You feel challenged to listen to music in new ways.”
(Modulus 2018 audience member)
With live music, behind-the-scenes artist talks, and an extension of Music on Main’s celebrated digital offerings, the 2021 Modulus features include Mark Takeshi McGregor (flute) with a programme including the world premiere of Keiko Devaux’s “Hōrai” along with music by Alfredo Santa Ana, James O’Callaghan, and Nicole Lizée. Create connections with your favourite musicians when The Tempest Project Company performs a world premiere by Alfredo Santa Ana. Experience dreamlike moments at the one audience and one artist performance of the limited engagement run of “As dreams are made.” Get lost in musical tributes to Louis Andriessen and Frederic Rzewski, and enjoy a free family concert featuring young string quartets. More programming to follow soon.
Music on Main’s 10th Modulus Festival has been generously supported by Department of Canadian Heritage, Canada Council for the Arts, Province of BC, BC Arts Council, City of Vancouver, Vancouver Civic Theatres, Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association (DVBIA), and Royal Bank of Canada.
