The Microcosmos Quartet leads the fourth annual performance of The Kessler Academy: an orchestral performance by rising young string professionals and advanced students. An exciting new educational initiative, The Kessler Academy features a conductor-less orchestra mentorship program led by the quartet members, in cooperation with Music on Main.

This inter-generational project is dedicated to keeping classical music alive in the 21st century. After four days of intensive rehearsal, these exciting young performers will take the stage at the intimate Pyatt Hall to perform great works for string orchestra. The Kessler Academy is named after the generous Mrs. Susan Kessler. This year’s program will focus on works by Stravinsky, Schnittke, Silvestrov, and Lourié. Mark your calendars!

This concert is generously supported by: The McGrane – Pearson Endowment Fund, The Diamond Foundation, Hamber Foundation, Beech Foundation, and Ms. Susan Kessler.
