Crossing musical borders

For his A Month of Tuesdays debut, violist and composer-performer Ryan Davis brings his boundary-crossing solo project Radia to the Fox Cabaret. Blending classical virtuosity with the sonic worlds of electronic, folk, and hip-hop, Davis reimagines the expressive possibilities of the viola through layered soundscapes, live performance, and original compositions. The result is music that feels at once intimate, rhythmic, and expansive.

Praised as “a violist unlike any other,” (Stir Vancouver) Davis has built a reputation for redefining the instrument’s role in contemporary music. As Radia, he crafts performances that move seamlessly between genres and artistic spaces, illuminating the viola in a strikingly modern light.
