One of Toronto’s hottest and bravest new music collectives.

Michael Vincent, Musical Toronto

Toronto’s Thin Edge New Music Collective and Montreal’s Ensemble Paramirabo join forces for an epic concert.

The two groups perform Frederic Rzewski’s Minimalist masterpiece “Coming Together,” a relentless, urgent setting of text by Sam Melville, one of the leaders of the 1971 Attica riots. Together, they share the Vancouver premiere of the Amsterdam-based sensation Yannis Kyriakides’ “Karaoke Etudes.” Also on the programme, premieres by young and dynamic composers James O’Callaghan and Anna Pidgorna, two new and essential voices in Canada’s music scene, and a new double sextet piece by Colin Labadie. The Vancouver show marks the launch of the groups’ new album, Raging Against the Machine.

“[Ensemble Paramirabo] is a rare gem.”-Andrew Crust, Bachtrack
