Join us for a concert tour de force with the brilliant Travis Laplante (saxophone) and Flat Earth Society. Bring your family, friends, or just yourself to enjoy this free concert, co-presented with Coastal Jazz Society.

Travis Laplante’s work is known globally as “a floating tapestry of fascinating textures made up of tiny musical motifs, and a music that throbs with tension between stillness and agitation, density and light” (Corinna da Fonseca-Wollheim, The New York Times). Outside of his outstanding solo work, Travis leads Battle Trance, the acclaimed tenor saxophone quartet, as well as Subtle Degrees, and his longstanding ensemble Little Women.

Flat Earth Society was founded in 1998, when artist, clarinettist, saxophonist, keyboard player, composer, and producer Peter Vermeersch wanted to explore new horizons. Peter assembled a pack of inspired and inimitable musicians, forming a big band with even bigger energy. For their set at The Roundhouse, Flat Earth Society shares some of their favourite music in a tribute to the late Ken Pickering.

Spend an afternoon enjoying super fun and energetic jazz, and gorgeous, meditative saxophone.

This performance is presented in partnership with Coastal Jazz.

RBC is the community sponsor for this performance.
