Caimin Gilmore is a Double Bassist & composer from Dublin. He is a member of new music groups, Crash Ensemble & s t a r g a z e.

He has performed &/or recorded with a diffuse array of ensembles & musicians – International artists such as Zach Condon (Beirut), Squarepusher, Bernard Butler (Suede), Robert Plant, Shahzad Ismaily, The Staves, Justin Vernon (Bon Ivor), Aaron Dessner (The National), Anais Mitchell (Bonny Light Horsemen), Phoebe Bridgers, Tom Fleming (Wild Beasts), Alabaster de Plume, Greg Saunier (Deerhoof), Dirty Projectors, Dionne Warwick & Irish acts Gavin James, Dermot Kennedy, Colm Mac Iomaire, Lisa Hannigan, Damien Dempsey, Kodaline, Loah, Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh, Lisa O’Neill, Ye Vagabonds, John Francis Flynn, Jessy Buckley, Cormac Begley, John Sheahan, Tolü Makay, Niamh Regan, David Kitt, Anna Mieke, Rachel Lavelle, Saint Sister, Ships, Stephen James Smith, Participant, Lemoncello, Niamh Bury. He also performs with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland & celebrated Irish Dance Company Teac Damsa.

He has recorded on numerous releases including the opening track of Leonard Cohen’s posthumous grammy nominated album, ‘Thanks for the Dance’ & with Damon Albarn on ‘The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows’ in 2020. See his discography here.

Broadcast highlights include multiple performances at Other Voices Festival on RTÉ, The Late Late Show with James Cordon CBS, Glastonbury Festival on BBC, NPR Music New York, music supervision for Ólafur Arnolds compositions on AMC+ dystopic science fiction series Moonhaven, Musical Directorship for Saturday night music show ‘The Heart of Saturday Night’ on RTÉ & proudly he was the Musical Director of ‘An Old Song Resung’ – the Irish Governments final Centenary Celebration concert celebrating the 100th year since the foundation of the Irish State.

He released his first solo Double Bass EP, ‘String Ogham Live’,in 2020 featuring work from four Irish composers & is the songwriter of chamber folk group, Sun Collective, they’re most recent EP described by Folk Radio UK as,“Discovering this EP is like discovering you actually breathe. You simply can’t live without it.” He has arranged for the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, 2FM, Other Voices, & Crash Ensemble.
