Grimes’ Visions Gets Classical Interpretation for New Concert Series in Pitchfork
Grimes’ music is being reworked for a classical concert in Dazed
Dismantling the music of captivating producer/singer Grimes, Montreal’s Plumes Ensemble makes its debut appearance in Vancouver, performing responses to songs by one of Canada’s top electronic artists.
Drawing elements and motifs to form creations that subvert, deconstruct, and embrace her inimitable and memorable new wave vision and catchy sound – the airy cyborg pop tunes on Grimes’ breakout third release Visions (2012) will be decoded and reworked into classical interpretations by 12 celebrated Canadian composers. With music by Casssandra Miller, Giorgio Magnanensi, Emilie LeBel, and more.
The Fox Cabaret is wheelchair accessible. Please inform Music on Main of any mobility needs when booking your tickets: 604.879.9888 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
