You know when you pour yourself into making a mixtape, revealing ideas, passions, and the music that’s exciting to you right now?

With Mixtape, Gabriel Kahane and Timo Andres have done just that. It’s a concert the Washington Post describes as a “complete and personal musical portrait.”

Gabriel and Timo have emerged as essential musical voices in today’s American scene. Whether performing at Carnegie Hall or the tiniest club, writing new music for orchestras, pop albums, or string quartets, they both have rising-star careers that define what it is to be a musician today.

For their Heritage Hall concert, they’ve created a live playlist of great music that feels like insight into a modern musician’s way of thinking. You’ll hear J.S Bach Cantatas alongside folk song settings, pieces by their friends and colleagues, music by classical giants Schubert and Schumann, and songs and solo piano works by Gabriel and Timo themselves.

Mixtape promises to shine a light on music making today, and will introduce you to two musicians you’ll be hearing so much more from for decades to come.

Featuring music by J.S Bach (arranged by György Kurtág), Benjamin Britten, Timo Andres, Gabriel Kahane, Thomas Adès, Robert Schumann, Franz Schubert, Andrew Norman, and Charles Ives.

Presented with the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival
